Burglary summer advice : Sat 11 Jul 12:00

Dear Resident,

With the warmer weather and lighter evenings, we traditionally see an increase in opportunist burglaries and thefts from homes and gardens.

Please help protect your property by: Keeping doors and windows locked, even when at home or in the garden.

Securing bikes, tools, and garden equipment

Avoiding leaving valuables on display

Using outdoor lighting or CCTV where possible

Asking trusted neighbours to watch your property if you are away

If you see suspicious behaviour in your street, report it to police immediately. In an emergency always call 999. For non-emergencies or to share information, call 101 or report online.

Come and meet your local neighbourhood policing team: 11th July 2026 outside Lidl on Prestwick Road, South Oxhey.

This is an opportunity to: Raise local concerns, receive burglary and crime prevention advice, and find out what your local officers are doing in the community.

We look forward to speaking with residents and helping keep our neighbourhood safe this summer.
